Content
347 and 347H chrome steel is widespread within the petroleum refining industries. Alloy 347 and 347H stainless steel is used to make radiant superheaters, boiler tubes, high strain steam pipe, and general refinery piping. They are additionally used for heavy-obligation exhaust methods and manifolds. Alloy 347 from NeoNickel provides superior resistance to intergranular corrosion. It’s also suitable for prime temperature service, as a result of its good mechanical properties.
347 chrome steel is a columbium/tantalum stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel stainless-steel. This materials is stabilized towards chromium carbide formation by the addition of columbium and tantalum. Since these parts have a stronger affinity for carbon than chromium, columbium-tantalum carbides precipitate throughout the grains instead of forming on the grain boundaries.
Type 347 has about the identical general corrosion resistance as Type 302. It has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after publicity to temperatures within the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C).

Delivery time7 to 15 days, depends on the quantity
- Type 347 has about the identical basic corrosion resistance as Type 302.
- solely AMS .75 max zero.75 max 347H zero.04-0.10 0.040 max 1.00 max .0 max zero.030 max x C min Bal Alloy 347 is a chromium nickel stainless steel which has been modified by the addition of columbium and tantalum.
- It has wonderful resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation vary of 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C).
- The alloy has good oxidation resistance and creep energy to 1500°F (816°C).
- The primary advantage of this is a wonderful resistance to intergranular corrosion which is widespread to other austenitic stainless steels following exposure to temperatures of 800° to 1500°F.
Our stainless production range
Alloy 347H (UNS S3409) stainless-steel plate is the upper carbon (zero.04 – 0.10) version of the alloy. It was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for greater power at temperatures above 1000°F (537°C). In most instances, the carbon content of the plate permits twin certification. Alloy 347 stainless-steel plate can also be advantageous for high temperature service because of its good mechanical properties.
Alloy 347 has a slightly improved corrosion resistance over other alloys of stainless-steel in strongly oxidizing environments because of the addition of columbium (niobium) and tantalum. Columbium-tantalum carbides precipitate inside the grains as a substitute of forming at the grain boundaries. Type 347 should be thought of for purposes requiring intermittent heating between 800ºF (427ºC) and 1650ºF (899ºC), or for welding underneath circumstances which stop a post-weld anneal. Alloy 347 stainless-steel plate reveals good basic corrosion resistance that’s comparable to 304.
Alloy 347 is mostly used where corrosive circumstances are extreme, corresponding to plane exhaust stacks, manifolds and ring collectors. Type 347 can be used for heavy welded assemblies which cannot be annealed after welding or where the working conditions trigger exposure inside the temperature range between 800° to 1500°F. Toughness, sturdiness, corrosion resistance, weldability, excessive temperature, excessive creep and stress rupture properties. • Type 347H has excessive carbon (.04 – . 10) for higher high temperature creep properties. All of the Type 347H chrome steel which equipped by Continental Steel, meets the leading international standards together with ASTM, ASME, EN, and DIN.
The bodily properties of grade 347H chrome steel are given in the following table. The following table exhibits the chemical composition of grade 347H chrome steel.
