Gangsteel Project for A517GrQ especially thick steel plates

 

A.      Application scope

These technical conditions apply to the manufacture and examination for 177.8mm thickness A517GrQ steel plates of CICS.

 

B.      Reference standards

ASTM A517/A517M Specification for Quenched and Tempered higher strength alloy steel plates for pressure vessels.

ASTM A20/A20M Specification for General Requirements for Hot Rolled Structural Steel Plates, Sheet Pilling, and Steel Bars

ASTM A370 Standard Test Methods and Definitions for Mechanical Testing of Steel Products

 

C.      Permissible deviation in size, outline and weight

The permissible deviation in size, outline and weight shall conform to specification ASTM A20/A20M. The straightness of steel plates should be not more than 4mm/m.

Permissible deviation of the thickness: 1.52mm.

E.      Surface Quality  A517GrQ

The surface quality of steel plate should apply to the specification ASTM A20/A20M

F.      Ultrasonic flaw detection

The steel plates must pass though Ultrasonic flaw detection totally, and comply with GB2970-2004

G.     Inspection items, Inspection rules and Experimental methods

1.           The rolled steel plates should be examined one by one in batches.

2.           The inspection items, sampling number ,sampling methods and experimental methods in every batch should apply to table3.
